DRESS NO. 4

This dress I wore last year for my birthday - to me there's just something about this white dress with the girly pink flowers that screams BIRTHDAY PARTY!
I bought it in a lovely second hand shop called Prag, just two minutes from my home - I've found a lot of really cute dresses here. Unfortunately they don't have a web shop, but if you're in Copenhagen you should definitely check it out. Have a look at https://www.facebook.com/praggenbrug.

Dress no. 4 is a sweet 1950s cotton dress with pink flowers and black dots.

Yesterday my mom came by with the most beautiful flowers a two vintage magazines - "Vecko Journalen" published in Finland, Norway and Denmark in 1945 and "Billed Bladet" published in Denmark in 1953.
Best mom in the world.

DRESS NO. 3

I bought this dress in London a few years back in one of the Beyond Retro shops. It was in the winter time so this beauty was held hostage in my closet for a long time before it finally came out. I just LOVE the color, it's the perfect light blue.

Dress no. 3 is a 1950s (maybe early 1960s) light blue wiggle dress with an attached blue belt with white drops.

DRESS NO. 2

I bought this dress in the vintage shop FN92 in Copenhagen around springtime 3 or 4 years back and it's been one of my favorites ever since. It's just really simple with beautiful details - e.g. the dotted collar and lovely light yellow buttons all the way down.
Dress no. 2 is a sweet 1950s yellow and cream/white striped cotton dress.

TALKING ABOUT DIOR

A little while ago I bought a booklet with some of the classic fashions of Christian Dior recreated in paper dolls. The drawings by Tom Tierney are amazing. Here are some of my favorite outfits.

NEW LOOK

If I got the chance to go back in time I would rush back to February 12, 1947, the day Christian Dior launched his debut haute couture collection New Look. This is just the most exquisite and beautiful collection of all times.

DRESS NO. 1

This dress might not be the first vintage dress I ever bought, but it's without doubt the first vintage dress that made my heart beat a little faster and it really kicked off my collection. The day I discovered this beauty I was hooked! I bought the dress at my all time favorite vintage shop in Copenhagen - FN92 - where I've found so many gorgeous dresses through the years. The webshop is definitely worth a look - www.fn92shop.com.
Dress no. 1 is a 1950s intensive red silk dress with a full skirt and a flattering squared neckline.

FOR THE LOVE OF DRESSES

Since I was a little girl I've always loved dresses. My mom used to make me the most beautiful dresses and I simply adored them.
When I got older I mostly wore jeans and trousers, but the dresses still had a very special place in my heart. As a teenager I started wearing a lot of second hand clothing and also found some vintage dresses, mostly 1970s and 1980s. I grew up, moved into my own apartment in Copenhagen and started filling my closet with dresses. All kind of dresses - new dresses, long dresses, old dresses, high street dresses, black dresses, short dresses, expensive dresses, colorful dresses...
Then one day I discovered a wonderful little boutique in Copenhagen packed with gorgeous dresses and gowns from the 1890s to the 1990s and from that day on I started collecting real vintage dresses. Especially dresses from the late 1940s to the early 1960s are very dear to me.

VOLVO AMAZON

There are so many beautiful vintage cars but this has to be my absolute favorite.

It was manufactured by Volvo Cars from 1965 to 1970 and according to Wikipedia the car was originally called Amason with a 's', which derives from the fierce female warriors of Greek mythology, the Amazons.

HOME ALONE

Some days ago my boyfriend (and the rest of Copenhagen) left for the annual Roskilde Festival. In those days it's always more quiet in the city, but this saturday was exceptional. It was extremely quiet everywhere and the weather was dark and rainy. Felt like a real ghost town.
I ended the day having great dinner and drinks with a good friend - such a wonderful saturday.

Last weekend I visited my mom who lives in the beautiful countryside.
It's a great little getaway with plenty of nature, fresh air, animals and flea markets.

HI THERE

A little introduction seems right considering this is my first blog post.

My name is Pia Storm and I'm a Copenhagen based, vintage loving girl born 1984 with a passion for the good old days. I love everything vintage, but especially dresses from the late forties to the early sixties have a big place in my heart.

Here's some pictures from my Instagram to show you a little bit of my universe.
